Post surgery accommodations

My uncle recently underwent a hip replacement surgery and has been at a rehabilitation center for several weeks.

This normally isn’t the case however he lives by himself and his home has many stairs that need to be used just to get in and out.

Because of the extent of his surgery his doctor has recommended that he stay at the rehabilitation center a bit longer in order to be strong enough to perform everyday tasks. When I went to see him the other day he was simply miserable and after spending an hour or so there I could see why. The beds seemed to be very uncomfortable and the constant noise in the place didn’t allow him to get much rest either. All he wanted to do was go to his own home or he could be comfortable and have some peace and quiet. When he mentioned the fact that he was always uncomfortable temperature wise I understood that because I was too warm and all I was doing was visiting. He said that they always got the place that way and they wouldn’t even allow him to open a window to get fresh air. I told him that all he could do was work hard to strengthen his hip and show them that he was ready to go home. I even offered to come by each afternoon to take him for a walk down the hall to help hasten his healing process.I also told him that I would drop off a small fan and he could plug-in next to his bed and at least get some relief from the heat at night.
