When we bought our house, I was delighted by the very large kitchen.
Unfortunately, the kitchen was poorly designed.
There was insufficient storage space, limited work area and no good spot for the table and chairs. The appliances were spaced too far apart, and there was no dishwasher. The cupboards and countertops were stained, chipped and of subpar quality. I sat down with a design specialist at a local home improvement store and was disappointed. The lay out for the kitchen that they came up with was nearly identical to what I already had. When they showed me samples of their cupboards, I noticed that everything was constructed from pressboards and veneers. The hardware was flimsy. I ended up consulting with a local custom furniture builder. I found him after searching online. From our first phone conversation, I was impressed with his knowledge, professionalism and customer service. His questions helped me to determine my priorities for the kitchen. His suggestions opened up opportunities I never would have considered. Because of the assistance and insight of the custom furniture builder, I implemented amenities such as a pot filler, touchless faucet, drawer microwave and lighted drawers. He came up with a design that maximized storage space potential and included a breakfast bar. I chose oak for the cupboards and granite for the countertops. The master craftsman constructed every aspect of the cupboards to perfectly fit the space. Every detail is customized. My kitchen is now the best part of the home. It’s an ideal working, cooking and gathering spot. Everything is modern, practical and easy to clean.
