I recently invested into an automation system for my home.
I was surprised by the many opportunities to customize the system to suit my priorities and lifestyle.
Because the system is nearly entirely wireless, it is easy to add features and make upgrades as they become available. The components are very streamlined and compact, allowing them to blend into the decor. I now have a central hub that organizes all of my smart appliances and operations and lets me access operations from virtually anywhere. Whether I’m sitting on my couch, at work or on vacation, I can easily make adjustments and keep watch over the home. The automation system is a source of control over the washing machine, dryer, coffee maker, oven, water heater, sound system and more. I can make a grocery list through my phone that shows up on a screen that is included in the door of my smart refrigerator. I can program lights to go on and off in specific rooms at certain times of day. Temperature settings automatically adjust to accommodate room occupancy. I get notifications on my phone when it’s time to schedule maintenance for the furnace, air conditioner, dryer vent or water heater. I receive alerts if there is a sudden temperature swing, power outage or concerns with indoor air quality, moisture, carbon monoxide or smoke. There are motion-activated lights and surveillance cameras sitauted around the perimeter of the house that let me know if anyone enters the property. I have an alarm system that sound if a window or door is opened.
