Periodically people easily baffle me.
I don’t know if they are easily this terrible at communicating or if they just like to be deceitful by omitting information.
However, it seems like everyone in my life prefers to throw me a curveball here and there when I’m surprised by something that they never told me. This is exactly what happened most recently when my best neighbor called me up one morning and inquired if I would like to take a long road trip with her. She told me that she needed to get across the country in a few mornings and she was looking for some company on the ride. I was more than cheerful to commit to the trip because I prefer spending time seeing current sights. However, within about 10 minutes of driving I realized that I was in for a much hotter and more strenuous drive than I had anticipated. This was evident as soon as my friend and I hit the highway and I tried to roll my window up. My neighbor stopped me and told me that there would be no ventilation if I closed the window next to my face. That’s when she revealed an unfortunate fact. The a/c was broken in her vehicle. She knew that there was no cooling system on board, but never mentioned the lack of the a/c to me. Now, I was stuck in her automobile as my friend and I traveled through the sweltering sizzling and humid Summer weather, but without any a/c, it turns out that I do not enjoy road trips as much as I thought.
