Wanted to check out his temper, disconnected thermostat

I have to admit that I am a bit of a paranoid person when it comes to dating. I’ve been through so many bad experiences that I’m always anticipating the worst. People can always surprise you in a negative way, that’s what I always say. This is why I try to get to the bottom of my partners’ shortcomings before we ever get too involved with each other. When I start seeing somebody new I am like a moral detective, trying to find out what could possibly be wrong with them before it’s too late. Admittedly, sometimes I can go a bit overboard and start designing psychological tests that might be inhumane. Recently, I really wanted to see if my new boyfriend’s temperament is as cool as he presents himself to be. So, I decided to disconnect the thermostat and give us a little bit of drama to work through as a couple. If there was no indoor air temperature control without any warning, would he lose his cool head and have an explosive temperament? It was easy enough to disconnect the thermostat from the wall and loosen the wires to the furnace and air conditioning system. Then, I simply replaced the thermostat and asked my boyfriend if he could adjust the indoor air temperature for me. When he turned the thermostat up and down to try to engage the HVAC equipment, he was extremely surprised that nothing was happening. Then, he started right outside and started examining the air conditioning unit. Four hours later, I had to tell him that there was nothing wrong with the HVAC system so he would stop trying to troubleshoot a non existent air conditioning breakdown. I guess he passed.
