I’m not certified, but I’m making bank

You never know what skills you can put to use until the time comes.

Sometimes, an opportunity will simply present itself and you’ll realize that you were well-equipped for something you had never imagined.

Recently, this has been the case as I’ve been making a ton of extra income through my side job as a heating and cooling technician. Let me be frank with you, I am not a certified air quality control specialist in any way. I’ve never attended heating and cooling technician school and I am not licensed by the state to work on HVAC systems. I don’t even work at a real heating and cooling repair shop. In fact, I am working out of my own shed and repairing neighbors HVAC devices on the down low. I never thought that I would fall into this line of air quality control work, but the situation presented itself when my neighbor suddenly had an emergency with his air conditioning system. One evening my closest neighbor knocked on my door and asked if I knew anything about air quality handling devices. I told him that I had grown up repairing our heating and cooling system in the family home and I would be more than happy to take a look at his AC unit. After I quickly repaired his cooling system, I started receiving calls from all of my neighbors for similar HVAC emergencies. Suddenly, I was performing the routine maintenance and diagnostic appointments that a professional HVAC technician would normally handle. I’m nervous to get caught because I’m not certified to perform these HVAC repair jobs, but for the time being I’m making bank as an unofficial air quality control specialist in the neighborhood.
