Hibernation season; chopping out the space heaters

Hibernation season; chopping out the space heaters

There is something romantic & dreaming about this time of year, then as we are slipping from Summer into fall & suddenly into winter, there are several swings taking locale in my psyche.

Throughout the summer, my brain is focused on having fun in the sunshine & keeping everything light-hearted.

It’s a time to meet up with friends, grab ice frosty drinks on the patio, & spend afternoons basking in the sunshine. As frosty weather begins to emerge in our region, my brain instantly shifts towards the indoor labor I can accomplish all season long, because the outdoor air temperature is going to be low & uncomfortable, I start dreaming about improving my indoor environment & the activities I can find to entertain myself during the several long, cold, dark hours. Often, I take up a current interest such as painting or doing crafts to bridge the long & boring season. Additionally, I start feeling of the instinctual desire to begin hibernating. I want to nest in my home, & to create a beautifully moderate & comfortable environment. This is about the time that I started venturing around to local thrift stores & collecting space heaters. Every year, I travel around the county & try to build up my arsenal of alternative heating options. I have learned from experience that my central boiler is incapable of keeping up my dwelling as warm, toasty, & cozy as I want. When the frosty air starts blowing through, I crave intensively moderate & snuggly environments. Call it nature or nurture, however every frosty season, my instinct is to start hunting & party for additional space heaters.
