AC unit for the beach

AC unit for the beach

I brought one down and installed it on the beach house.

When my friends said they wanted to buy a beach house together, I thought it was a great idea. We could all pitch in and have partial ownership of the property, using it separately or together as a central meeting location. It was going to be so epic! We had the money we needed to afford the place outright, and all we needed to worry about after that were the yearly property taxes. Or so we thought. Little did we know, we were going to need to do a full ventilation replacement on the house within the first year of purchasing it. And then another year after that. Our troubles started in the middle of summer a few months after making a purchase. We were all hanging out at the cabin, having a great time on the water when it started to feel a bit hot and stagnant inside. I tried on a few fans and we went back to hanging out, waiting for the added ventilation to bring us some relief. Instead, it only continue to get hotter and more humid inside. I went to the thermostat to check on the AC settings, and found that the air conditioning unit was offline. It was not talking to the thermostat. When I went and looked at the cooling system, it was inoperable. We quickly called the nearest HVAC company… Which was 2 hours away. When they got out to the property, they told us that the air conditioner was fried. At the time, I was convinced that I could get a better AC system your place that myself. I brought one down and installed it on the beach house. Another year later, we had the exact same thing happen. RAC system was completely busted. This time, I listened to the HVAC professional when they told me that you need a specialized air conditioner to a stand the sand and erosion of being on a beach. Large Investments, large lessons.
