I’m very happy with the house where my boyfriend and I settled recently.
I wasn’t sure about the move itself, since I was picking up my life and traveling across the country to be with him and felt extremely stressed about the whole ordeal.
However, we found a great house to rent, and I was excited at the prospect of having a real home to settle into. So far I’ve loved the place, and I feel very comfortable staying home and making it my own. The only area in which the house is lacking is the amount of natural ventilation it receives, meaning we rely heavily on our HVAC system to keep the indoor air quality comfortable. Because we live in the middle of the woods, there are many trees that prevent us from catching a substantial breeze. Even when our windows are open you barely feel a difference in the air conditions, which is frustrating and expensive. We have to run our central heating and cooling units every single day, and the artificial air doesn’t feel the same as being able to breath in clean outdoor air. I wish that we could just count on the outdoor air to keep our home comfortable instead of fawning over the thermostat and forking over hundreds of dollars to the energy company every month. It’s getting to the point that I am stressed out by the daily weather report and cry when we have to run our AC for weeks on end. We need to face the facts and invest in a more energy efficient HVAC system, or we’ll be relocating again soon.
